Celebrate Valentine’s Day in true Lowcountry fashion:
The options are in and you may have a hard time deciding where to spend your Valentine’s Day. These aren’t Valentine’s Day specific events per say, just fun things to do with your other half or your crew in and around Valentine’s Day. So however you choose to celebrate on V-day, Galentines party with your girls, toasting your independence with a Singles awareness celebration, or enjoying a romantic dinner with your P.I.C., there’s something going on in the Lowcountry for YOU.
It’s a really fun time of the year to be in the Lowcountry. Our local businesses and non-profits have outdone themselves. So what’ll it be:
Fundraiser murder mystery gala?
Romantic cooking classes?
Beer and Bingo?
Couples golf?
Take a look at the list below and enjoy Valentines Day in true Lowcountry style! There is certainly more going on than I have mentioned, so don’t hold it against me if I missed one! These are just a few of my favorite local events and ideas for this Valentine’s Day!
Book an at home Macaron baking class with Tout Sweet Macarons
Celebrate Galentine’s Day with your crew in the comfort of your own home!
This is a hands-on experience making the classic French Macaron in the comfort of your home. All equipment and ingredients will be provided to make a minimum of one dozen macarons. Hosts will be able to choose the flavor, color combination for their class, and keep the macarons the instructor makes. Class size requirement of 2 students with max of 4 per 2.5 hours. Minimum age requirement of 10 years.

Feb.1 Chamber Ball 2020 – A Night Like No Other, Hilton Head Island, SC
The Chamber Ball brings together the biggest names in business and honoring those in our community who go above and beyond to make a difference in our region. Manhattan’s famed Windows on the World chefs will partner with our local culinary artists to bring you course after course of tapas-style haute cuisine.
Feb.8 Southern Coast Heart Ball, The Westin, Hilton Head Island, SC
The Southern Coast Heart Ball, attended by more than 500 individuals from Hilton Head and Savannah’s business, medical and social communities, is the annual black-tie gala benefiting the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission. The evening’s festivities begin with a pre-event reception that includes an amazing silent auction followed by an elegant dinner, inspiring program, a spectacular live auction and incredible entertainment. Feb. 8 Saint Gregory the Great Gatsby Gala, Parish Life Center, Bluffton, SC
TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE for the February 8, 2020 SGG Gatsby Gala! The Gala is the one, big fundraising event for St. Gregory the Great Catholic School each year! The event is from 6-11pm in Saint Gregory’s very own Parish Life Center which is being transformed into a stunning, Gatsby venue. We encourage Roaring 20’s attire as a prize goes to the best dressed couple! Tickets are $75 per person or $140 per couple. This includes “Murder” Mystery (rated PG) Entertainment, Live and Silent Auctions, Photo Booth, Dinner & Dessert, Dancing and more! Champagne will be flowing complimentary while available. We will also have cash bars with cocktails, beer, and wine. Invite your family, friends and neighbors! RSVP by Friday, January 10, 2020 with your payment to SGGCS.
Feb.9 Valentine’s Day Scramble, Pinecrest Golf Club, Bluffton, SC
You don’t have to be a great golfer to have fun during these scrambles! Grab your other half Sunday, February 9, 2020 for the Valentine’s Day Scramble. This event will be a play as a Scramble and will begin with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. For more information or to register your team please call Pinecrest Golf Club at (843) 757-8960.
Feb. 12 Wine Down Wednesday at the Village of Wexford, Hilton Head Island, SC
Join the Village at Wexford for a romantic one-of-a-kind wine tasting experience with live music on the patio!
Follow the “tasting map” around the Village at Wexford to enjoy a variety of wine selections, tastings or refreshments from participating merchants. Enjoy special promotions, sales and in-store demos!
Limited tickets available, $10/person*, which includes a souvenir glass and wine tastings or refreshments at all participating merchants; proceeds to benefit Pockets Full of Sunshine, a 501(c)(3) organization, that works to make Beaufort County a “sunnier” place by unlocking the limitless opportunities within our community that enhance the lives of our intellectually and physically disabled individuals.
Feb 12. Beer and Bingo at Southern Barrel Brewing Co., Bluffton, SC
This is the perfect Galentines night in my opinion! Meet at Southern Barrel Brewing Co. for 10 rounds of classic bingo. Each game is a little different. Prizes after each round. Free to play.
Feb.13 The Do’s & Doughn’ts of Valentines Day by Roller Wine and Spirits
Try something new for Valentines this year…a hands on dough making class with wine tastings to pair. Enjoy a cooking class and wine tasting featuring Chef Lynn Michelle! You know what they say…those who cook together, stay together!
• First, you’ll learn how to make the perfect dinner roll.
• Next, you’ll learn how to make a scrumptious pepperoni roll, great for party appetizers or an easy dinner for the family.
• Last but not least, you’ll learn how to make a cinnamon roll to die for.
• Each lesson will be accompanied by the perfect wine tasting to pair.
Feb.14 Valentine’s DJ Pool Party at The Alida, Savannah, GA
When we are lucky enough to have Valentine’s Day land on a Friday, that calls for a DJ Pool Party! Alida’s DJ will set the mood for all the lovers and friends on the dance floor.
VDay Pool Party runs from 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm.
Ticket includes:
• Event admission
• Champagne toast upon arrival.
• Access to our Executive Chef Jason Starnes’ “Street Food” pop up available from 8:30 to 10pm

Feb.15 2020 Mardi Gras Masquerade, The Sonesta Resort
Join in on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 as people come together for the annual Mardi Gras Gala in support of raising awareness and acceptance of mental illness. NAMI Lowcountry is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness, and they need your help to continue growing awareness in our community.
This will be an evening to remember!
The Sonesta Resort will be transformed into an authentic Mardi Gras themed venue filled with incredible silent and live auction items, a New Orleans style menu, and a party hosted by Crush Entertainment! Additionally, Hakeem Rahim will be a guest speaker. Hakeem was the first African American valedictorian at his high school, Homecoming King, was accepted into Harvard at the age of 17, and joined their cheerleading squad. Until his world changed. He was eventually diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, and now travels the country educating communities on acceptance of mental illness, and testifies in front of Congress on mental health initiatives. Hakeem is not defined by his illness. He is Hakeem Rahim, and he has bipolar disorder.
